For decades, nearly all consumer and professional electronic devices used electret microphones for capturing sound. Our electret microphones exhibit excellent sound qualities and are more easily modified and integrated into lower-quantity production runs than other microphones on the market. Our electret microphones are employed singly, in pairs, or in arrays for use in hearing devices, communications headsets, surveillance enclosures, audio monitoring applications, high-performance lapel mics, scientific measurement applications, and much more.

All Sierra Peaks microphones have pre-amplifiers with fixed and adjustable gain available to amplify signal before listening, recording, or transmission. Our standard pre-amplifer products are ready for purchase off-the-shelf or can be custom built to your exact specifications. 

Because we manufacture the microphone and pre-amplifiers on equipment we designed and built ourselves, we’re experts in all the details of pairing these components for maximum performance. Our preamplifiers are designed to closely match the frequency response of the microphones. Using a matched preamplifier eliminates the risk of cutting off useful frequencies and amplifying unnecessary noise that is outside of the microphone’s frequency range. And, our cables are impedance matched to our microphone and pre-amplifier components, which reduces noise.

Our experienced microelectronic technicians can build custom assemblies by performing attachment of the microphone to the cables and pre-amplifiers. The completed assembly will be fully tested before delivery.

At Sierra Peaks, we pride ourselves on working directly with our customers to create custom solutions that meet their needs. We can modify our microphone designs to optimize sensitivity, fidelity, or tonal range. Our omnidirectional microphones can be modified to become directional, the microphones can be designed to allow for larger acoustic signals without saturating the microphone, and we can redesign the power supplies and amplifiers to match the custom microphones for maximum performance. 

We can also supply custom microphone and cable assemblies built according to your design. Our expert assembly technicians have the experience required to build many types of devices requiring exact mechanical placement and assembly, soldering, gluing/potting, and laser marking of parts.
